Aetna Coverage Availability and Fees

Like most plans, Aetna dental insurance is set on a calendar year (from January to December) and unused benefits do not rollover from one period to the next. We can help you make strategic decisions to ensure that you are making the most out of your coverage when the time comes.

The details of your plan may vary a bit based on specific decisions made at the time of enrollment, but in general, you can expect your coverage to look like this:

• Preventive care is fully covered, including two checkups and cleanings per year, a set of X-rays, and possibly dental sealants and fluoride treatments for children.
• Restorative care is covered between 50% and 80%, depending on the complexity of the service being rendered. A dental filling will receive the maximum coverage, while a dental crown or denture may only be covered by half.
• Cosmetic dentistry and elective procedures are typically not covered by dental insurance, unless they are necessary for your oral health and wellness.
